My name is Cambria Tooley. In 1989, I graduated from California State University, Northridge with my B.A. in Liberal Studies because I already knew that I wanted to pursue teaching. After completing my fifth year (student teaching practice), I began my 26 year career which has included 3 school districts, and all of the grade levels. (I taught K-12 Home/Hospital students for 3 years). Currently, I am an elementary school teacher at an Arts and Technology Magnet School in Moorpark, California which is about 40 miles north of LA (not counting traffic). 1 1/2 years ago, I received a private donation of iPads for my classroom which has completely revolutionized my teaching. With the use of these iPads, and Google Apps for Education, I have noticed a significant increase of engagement in my students.
Collaboration at its best. |
I don’t have any immediate or future plans to change my current position, but I remain open to the possibilities that this journey will bring.
In my spare time, (the time I used to have before starting this Master's Program), I direct the school’s Talent Show, play softball (just a cut above badly), hike, travel, do yoga, play piano (about equal with my softball skills), mentor people in my community and laugh with my family and friends.
Cambria,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this newsy post. I, like you, have wanted to pursue coursework in EdTech. I passed on pursuing a Masters in EdTech at Cal State Fullerton two years ago. I've taken Leading Edge certifications and attended CUE conferences. I decided to pursue a Technology Integration Certificate at Boise State to test out more formal education. Maybe I'll make it back as you are now doing. I like the look of your blog already. I look forward to working together and learning more about you during this class!
Judy
Hi Judy,
DeleteIf you can tackle the three courses needed for the certificate, you can definitely add 8 more and knock this thing out. I didn't believe that going in, but I do now.
Thanks for the comments!
